This article uses a case study to “discuss the obligations of the government and the implications on the realization of the right of girls and women to access safe and legal abortion.” It asks: “What constitutes lawful abortion in Malawi? What are the obligations of the government relating to provision of legal abortion within the confines of the current law? What steps could be taken to hold the government accountable in implementing abortion law?”
