This GDC/Colombia Publication assesses the impact of an unwanted pregnancy on mental health and the legal ramifications in Colombia. The authors assert that “unwanted pregnancy and its forced continuation affect mental health (and) thus, from this standpoint, any woman who is forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term faces a health risk that she should not have to face under current legislation in Colombia and has the right to terminate her pregnancy.”
