GDC’s Dr. Favier’s Recognition

We are proud to share that our very own Dr. Mary Favier, a GDC board member who leads Irish Doctors for Choice, was honored for her work and expertise.

In February 2018, Dr. Favier received the annual 2018 Bram Stoker award from Trinity College Dublin Philosophical Society (‘The Phil’) on behalf of Irish Doctors for Choice. Founded in 1683, “The Phil” is the world’s oldest debating society with past members including Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett. Each year the Bram Stoker medal, named after one of the society’s best known past auditors, is awarded to an individual who has made “an outstanding contribution to shaping the future of Ireland.”

Additionally, Dr. Favier was recently elected vice president elect of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP), effective in May 2018 for one year. Then she will become president in May 2019 for one year and then remain on the ICGP board as immediate past president for one additional year starting May 2020.

We are grateful to know her and for her contributions to GDC’s board.
