GDC/Colombia: Stigma & Abortion Providers

We are proud to share GDC/Colombia’s first publication* in a blog hosted by the Colombian journal La Silla Vacía.

This publication Dr. Maria M. Vivas asserts that, despite the stigma that abortion providers face, doctors who choose to provide abortions actually are conscientiously choosing to guarantee the women’s rights.  Doctors who chose to provide abortions do so in order to protect the principles of medicine, to respect women’s autonomy, to protect women’s well-being and avoid harm, and to guarantee not only access to safe medical care but also to people’s rights can be exercised.
