Dr. Godi’s Op-Ed on Referrals to Address Conscientious Objection

GDC/South African lead doctor Dr. Ntandho Patrick Godi urges providers who are conscientious objectors – who refuse to provide abortion based on one’s moral or religious beliefs – to refer patients seeking abortion to providers willing to offer abortions in order to prevent the extreme consequences of unsafe abortions.

Dr. Godi asserts that the “provision of safe and legal abortion services is a crucial aspect of ensuring women’s reproductive health and is essential to safeguarding their rights and well-being.”
